Location
Ventspils is located in the north-west part of Latvia (57º23'06" northern latitude and 21º32'46" eastern longitude) near the place, where the river Venta flows into the Baltic Sea and 189 km from the capital city Riga. According to the number of inhabitants, Ventspils is the sixth largest Latvian city.
